As from today, “La Rocca” in Staggia, the Franzesi castle, where the peace treaty between Siena and Florence was signed, is a member of “Italy as Motivation”.
In the Chianti Itineraries of “Italy as Motivation” or as a stopover in the Siena area for a more extensive tour of Tuscany or Italy, “La Rocca” in Staggia is a hidden treasure, an excellent opportunity for cultural self-improvement both for adults and children.
 “La Rocca” dominates the Francigena way in the direction of Monteriggioni. The rugged and squared shapes of the Lombard structure taint the elegant and refined style of the Franzesi palace and the smoothness of the “rondelle”, round towers and perhaps the only architectural example in Italy made by the master masons who constructed French cathedrals.
The well-preserved walls meet with the “walled land” of Staggia creating a battlement between the castle, the “Rocca” and the hamlet permitting their crossing without touching the ground.

Luminous installations come into contact with the premises of the “Rocca” creating poetries of light. Narrative scenography reveal unknown aspects of space, tracing unexpected itineraries amongst the walls which have the power to reawaken lost marvels in adults and children.
The luminous creations made by METALSPOT, an avant-garde company in the sector, join technical research and design in an artistic itinerary of rare creativity which introduces us to the language of light, accompanying us on a poetic and theatrical crossing of space. The rooms of the tower become an enchanted forest, a magical Alchemist’s cavern, animate a fantastic bestiary in the library, create the fascination of a luminous rain in the room of love and water reflections in the scenery of the small theatre.
